Working for Us

It's not for everybody. If you’re interested in a fast-paced small-team environment with ambitious assignments, demanding standards, and an expectation for curiosity and creativity, you may be in the right place. We seek diversity — in language, background, ethnicity, skill-set, even taste and style. We want budding leaders, thinkers and problem-solvers, people captivated by more than our generous benefits package. Changing the world — even a little bit — isn’t easy. We need people talented enough to break the mold.

And one other job requirement from which no one is exempt: Each employee must be nice. Weird, we know. We’re like that.

(Alexandria Office)

As an agency specializing in behavior change, Salter>Mitchell focuses on helping clients affect everyday behaviors in ways that benefit individuals and society as a whole. We’re looking for candidates ready to employ media buying skills to ensure these important campaigns break through the crowded media market.

About Us

We’re an advertising, public relations, and behavior change marketing agency committed to a behavior-based, results-oriented methodology. We’ve worked on everything from building apps for “finding active fun” and web tools for choosing “better beverages,” to planning social events that result in tree plantings and campaigns that help you save local crabs, then eat them. We offer a fun and friendly work culture built around doing inspiring work to make the world a little bit better place.

About the Position

Our Behavior Change Marketing team based in metro Washington D.C. is seeking qualified applicants—those ready to both utilize their skills on day one and help expand our media buying practice in the future. This is an entry-level position set up to grow quickly with the right person.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Contributing optimization recommendations to media buy plans, based on campaign goals, audience insights, and new and existing ad opportunities.
  • Coordinating with media vendors, including outlining targeting needs, analyzing proposals, sharing creative files, and obtaining regular performance reports.
  • Creating client-facing performance reports and recommending changes to leverage successes.
  • Day-to-day monitoring of buys to address issues in real-time and highlight opportunities.
  • Staying abreast of relevant industry updates necessary to take advantage of current trends and developments.
  • Utilizing media analysis software (through Kantar Media) to pull audience and publisher information used in planning.
  • Assisting team members with project-related tasks as they emerge (including writing content, coordinating with creative or web teams, etc.)

We’d like to chat if you:

  • Have experience and interest in the full media buying spectrum: planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting out on media buys (emphasis on digital, but should also have understanding of traditional media).
  • Have 1 – 2 years experience working at an agency. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in managing several projects at once, always with keen attention to detail.
  • Are able to work individually and collaboratively across several different teams to produce results.
  • Stay abreast of latest media buying trends and opportunities.

And one other job requirement from which no one is exempt: Each employee must be nice. Weird, we know. We’re like that.
