Project Manager - Public Relations/Communications
(Tallahassee, FL office)
Salter>Mitchell is seeking to hire 1-2 junior level project managers for its Tallahassee office. Candidates must have excellent writing and analytical skills, at least two years’ experience working with the media, not-for-profits, or government. Environmental, political, healthcare or advocacy experience is a plus.
Must be able to work on a team or independently, and manage multiple priority projects. As a small firm working on a national scale, we rely on project managers to do much more than keep projects on track, budgets in check and clients happy. In addition to organization and communications know-how, project managers are expected to add creative thinking, research insights and often their own copywriting, design or other expertise to a project.

Front-End Web Developer (Full-time)

Salter>Mitchell is seeking a front-end web developer to join our team in Alexandria, VA. We are a 30-person national behavior change marketing, public relations and advertising firm based in Tallahassee, FL, with offices in Alexandria, VA, and Orlando, FL.
We don't care how much experience you have as long as you can do the job. So, what is the job? We are looking for a front-end developer with an eye for details, design and usability. We are a small team so everyone wears a lot of hats – while the main focus will be front-end development on any given day you could also be strategizing a new project, writing back-end code, managing a project with a client, or running a training on how to manage one of our sites.
Our web team works in an open source environment on the LAMP stack. We are always inventing new features and building complex products – you must be willing to learn new technologies as needed (and know when to tell us we are crazy).
Required SKills:
- Fluent in HTML / CSS
- Javascript and jQuery
- Familiarity with PHP and MySQL
- SEO techniques in markup
- Communication skills
Would also be nice to know if you have experience in any of the below:
- Linux as a Desktop
- Responsive Design
- Twitter Bootstrap
- Social Media Integration
- Content Management Systems (Drupal, Wordpress, etc.)
